JCA/MN VOICE Voter Engagement Fellow (Seasonal for the 2020 Election Season)

JCA is seeking an energetic, passionate voter engagement organizer to serve as our MN VOICE Fellow and help connect JCA members with voter registration and education opportunities across the Twin Cities and with our partners. Organizing or electoral political campaign experience is helpful, as is familiarity with the Voter Activation Network (VAN) software. 

 

The JCA MN VOICE Fellow (“Fellow”) will work closely with other JCA staff, MN VOICE staff, and key partners in order to carry out the activities related to voter engagement activities with our members and community partners.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in ongoing training with MN VOICE and ongoing training and coordination with both JCA and MN VOICE staff;

  • Building capacity of current and prospective JCA members to engage in non-partisan voter registration and education activities around the 2020 elections

  • Taking a lead role in volunteer recruitment and logistical preparations for voter engagement activities centered around JCA’s existing campaigns (DCC, Housing and Antisemitism/White Nationalism);

  • Working with JCA staff and MN VOICE staff to connect with partner organizations and help plan joint voter engagement activities (ACER, NADC, SHHC,  and others);

  • Working with JCA staff to recruit and staff JCA member leadership team focused on voter engagement;

  • Developing and delivering voter engagement training materials with MN VOICE partners;

  • Facilitating data collection and reporting of outputs and outcomes of voter engagement campaigns to funders and membership.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communications skills, written and spoken;

  • Organizing and leadership development skills;

  • Ability to facilitate meetings;

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects;

  • Ability to work independently, self initiative;

  • Team oriented, ability to work with diverse groups;

  • Knowledge in basic computer usage.

 

Benefits:

This is a full time (40 hrs/wk), seasonal contracted, position, with some expected evening and weekend (not during Shabbat) hours, during the period June 1st 2020 through Dec. 31st 2020. JCA will provide a stipend of $20,000.
