Jewish Community Action believes that building relationships is key to organizing our community to create change, and central to our work are our relationships with congregations. We know that congregations have power. They have skilled and passionate people, both lay and clergy, committed to organizing and building alliances, and they act based on Jewish values and text. Organizing in congregations provides JCA and the community with the leadership necessary to create a powerful Jewish voice.
The relationship strengthens us both. Jewish Community Action provides training and leadership development, and we work with members and clergy to build leadership teams to guide their own congregation’s work on the issues we’ve identified and those most important to them. JCA organizing staff provides ongoing consultation to congregational lay and clergy leaders on community organizing, campaign strategizing, program development, base building and Jewish social justice text.
