In September 2011, Jewish Community Action launched the Tzedek Institute and welcomed a cohort of leaders eager to increase their leadership skills and learn community organizing through a Jewish lens. With a curriculum rooted in tradition and our core values, mixing group sessions and experiential learning, the cohort left transformed, and went on to organize in their congregations and communities with ongoing training and support from JCA. Their work will serve to deepen the reach of our congregational organizing and elevate the visibility of social justice in all of our congregations. Since then, we have continued to train and develop leaders, and our Tzedek Institute alumni have taken important leadership on our campaigns as well as in their congregations.
We are currently accepting applications for the latest cohort, which will begin in the spring of 2016. We're excited to train and learn from a new group of leaders, and we can't wait to see the work they accomplish in our community!
